Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson Scissor Lift

This is a brief documentation on the build of a scissor lift that UNCG Theatre used for a scene in Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson. I was the fabricator for this project - we have a CNC Mill in our shop where we cut several of the pieces for this project, and I was responsible for the assembly once these pieces were cut. The project involved a whole lot of welding, as well as a hydraulic pump and the use of our Creative Connor's automation system. it was an excellent study in the precision required in fabrication as well as an excellent study in automation outside of the premade world.

For show photos and to see it in use, check out some of the photos I took at Lane Ellison Photography!

Several of these process photos are the copyright of Daniel Perez, whose work can be found at Red Fox Works, and who I appreciate for actually keeping his camera handy when I didn't.

Here is a video he did also of the process and uses of the Scissor Lift as well as some other Connor's automation equipment. It can be found on Vimeo.

Here is a video once we had some pieces assembled and were able to test the concept and fabrication of pieces. It can also be found on Vimeo.
